In the Bible it speaks numerous times about unity in the church and the strength in having unity in the church. Sunday night youth service really showed me that. In life there will be people you may have NOTHING in common with other then the fact then you were both created by the Lord. In Romans 12:3-8 it says " For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function,so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully." When I read this I began to think in each body of Christ we all have our position. Some of us are the lovers, the preachers, the worship leaders, the prayer warriors, and so many more. Sometimes we all forget what our position is though because we are to focused on our differences. But the moment we ALL begin to put those differences aside and just begin to love and worship God his spirit can move in crazy ways. God puts us in our youth groups and churches for a reason. What's your position? Are you focusing on him or the differences?
To my u-turn family- Any of you who may be reading this... We have an issue of diversity in our group and we all know this. I think it is time for us to begin to put a side all the differences we have and just join together and worship our amazing creator. That's what it's all about anyways right? We can't live up to Pastor Rob's "You come, You see, You turn." If half of us can't get along with each other. It's time for change.
